A FAMILY STORY
A journey of over 60 years of successes and innovations
In 1961, Luigi De Faveri and his wife Gabriella Campodall’Orto opened a metal carpentry workshop in the province of Treviso in north-eastern Italy. Luigi De Faveri was 21 years old at the time. He had recently returned from France where he had worked as a bricklayer. It was there that his desire to start his own business first took shape.
The 1970s
Luigi De Faveri's journey has just begun. Courage, passion and a great desire to accomplish things will always guide the tireless founder and the people who will accompany him on this journey over the years.
The DeFAVERI company began to design and manufacture the first counterframes for windows and later moved on to integrated single-unit window counterframes. Only a few people worked in the company at the time, including the founder himself and his wife.
The company's competence and professionalism begin to be appreciated by customers and encouraged the owners to make new investments in production machinery and technology.
The 1980s and 90s
1989 saw the birth of ECLISSE, the company specialising in sliding pocket door systems, metal structures that allow any door to slide and disappear inside the wall. By listening to its customers and their needs, ECLISSE developed exclusive technical details and patents to offer a reliable product that is easy to assemble and facilitates the work of the installer on site. The main innovations that have made ECLISSE products famous date back to this period: the fully extractable track, the protruding plaster mesh and the patented LUCE system, i.e. the first sliding pocket door system to allow the passage of electrical wiring, in order to have switches and sockets within easy reach and close to the door hole. In 1996, the first subsidiary company opened in France. It will be the first of a long series.
The new millennium
In the early 2000s, expansion abroad accelerated and new subsidiaries were opened in Europe and Brazil.
In 2008, production began on the first flush-to-wall hinged door frame, a system that allows the door to be completely coplanar to the wall on which it is installed, without recesses, frames or architraves.
The present and a look at new horizons
As of 1 January 2024, ECLISSE srl and De Faveri srl are a single entity that will be called ECLISSE Group. An operation born from the will of the De Faveri family to unite two historical and consolidated companies, which from the very beginning have walked on common tracks sharing vision and objectives.
Made in Italy quality, respect for the supply chain and an innovative spirit are the common traits of two different value propositions, which nevertheless find in their DNA the same ability to be a reliable partner at their customers’ side.
The ECLISSE Group is now a world leader in the design and manufacturing of building solutions such as single-unit counterframes for windows, sliding pocket door systems, swing door frames, access panel, hatches and flush fittings.
Present in more than 50 countries worldwide through a network of subsidiaries, exclusive distributors and directional customers, the ECLISSE Group will continue its commitment to invest in the future of this industry, capitalising on its natural propensity for research and continuous innovation.
The whole production, which has always been Made in Italy, takes place at the company’s plants in Pieve di Soligo and Refrontolo, Treviso, in the north-east of Italy.
